CORONA VIRUS UPDATE
- CEO KNH Dr.Evanson Kamuri hosted Group CEO & MD DTB Kenya Nasim Devji and CEO Serena Hotels Mahmmud Jan Mohamed at Kenyatta National hospital to a thirty-day initiative to provide two hundred hot meals per day to frontline health workers.
- “The government has come in strongly to support the health workers during this time and we truly appreciate. Kenyans should be proud. What is more important is the spirit of giving and wanting to help; being part of the solution.” Says CEO KNH, Dr. Kamuri as he showed his appreciation to the PS Department of Livestock, Kenya Dairy Board and Devian Food Industries
- Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) in partnership with Nursing Council of Kenya held a Zumba Session (a fitness program that helps improve cardiovascular fitness) at KNH IDU-Mbagathi on 28th May 2020. The program goes a long way in enhancing coordination and boost morale for staff.
- KNH Deputy Director Affiliation & Institutional Development Dr. Tom Menge on behalf of KNH CEO received a digital duplicator from CopyCat Ltd Head of Business Digital Barasa Arthur to edify the hospital in running internal photocopying of crucial hospital documents during the COVID-19 pandemic. The duplicator will aid the reprographics department in carrying out functions such as scanning, photography, and digital printing for both hard copy and soft copy reproductions of documents and images.
- Mr. Wilson Kimani, a KNH staff, on 14th May, 2020, donated foot controlled hand sanitizer dispensers to the Hospital. The equipment donated will greatly reduce the likelihood of cross-infection. "The Hospital is proud of your initiative, dedication & commitment"-CEO KNH Dr. E. N Kamuri.
- Zakat-ke led by their Deputy Head of Distribution Abdishakur Mohammed on 11th May 2020 donated dry foodstuff (rice, wheat flour, cooking oil, sugar, maize flour and dates) to KNH in the spirit of Ramadhan. The team through their project Muslims4Muslims Iftar Distribution 2020 brought a message of hope during this Covid-19 period. Muslim4Muslim is an initiative founded and launched during the 2017 Ramadhan, a noble gesture to help Muslims during the Holy Month of Ramadhan
- During the Global Hand Hygiene Day commemoration, CEO KNH expressed commitment towards curbing the spread of infections through the relentless effort from the KNH management and staff. KNH endeavors to support the MOH in the containment of COVID-19.
- The Strategy and Corporate Affairs Director Mr.John Muchunu and the Commercial Manager Retail and Lubricants Mr.Francois Xavier Ruenes of Total Kenya donated fuel and hand sanitizers to KNH. We appreciate the fantastic support from Total Kenya.
- KNH Executive Management shared a meal with the KNH IDU-Mbagathi healthcare workers managing COVID19KE cases. "Great humbleness and awareness of your own frailty, yet relentlessly serving is our main responsibility as health workers and we appreciate all that you do" -Dr. Kamuri
- Hon. Sabina Chege visited the KNH IDU facility to interact with healthcare workers and appreciate their commitment to serve as well as pay a visit to the Kenyans isolated in the facility.

- We would like to recognize individuals like Ms. Susan H. Tilson who have made personal efforts to donate essential items in the fight against the common enemy of COVID_19. KNH CEO and doctors received 1,000 pieces of facemasks from Ms. Tilson
- KNH Management led by the CEO express their gratitude to the Governor, Nairobi County for donating a walk through sanitisation booth installed at KNH to disinfect staff and visitors before accessing the Hospital in the fight against COVID-19
- CS MoH, Hon. Kagwe, launched a special designated Isolation Facility at KNH hospital for healthcare workers in the country. KNH Board Chairman Eng. Gumbo and CEO Dr. Kamuri received Hospital beds for the facility, a donation from Rockfeller Foundation & AMREF
- Health PS Susan Mochache visited KNH to launch mass testing for #COVID19 for KNH staff. KNH CEO Dr. Evanson Kamuri alongside directors, deputy directors, and other medical personnel took her through the screening process at Clinic 66.
- Doctors from KNH, UoN and their friends present Personal Protective Equipment(PPE's) to the CEO KNH , as a show of solidarity and support to frontliners working tirelessly to contain COVID19. We appreciate you all for your donation and sacrifice!
- Kitui County Governor presents samples of PPE's and uniforms made at kikotec to the CEO KNH. We wish to commend the Governor and Kitui County Textile Cente for their efforts and responsiveness to aid in fighting COVID19

- KNH Diagnostic and Reporting Centre, which incorporates a medical Teleconferencing facility and Artificial intelligent tele-radiology centre
- The CT Scanner equipment is able to detect COVID_19 before it is active thus ensuring isolation of patients in good time. It takes less than a minute to get results.
- The US Embassy has donated an assortment of Personal Protective Equipment to Kenyatta National Hospital. Ambassador to Kenya H.E Kyle McCarter presented the donations to KNH CEO Dr. Evanson Kamuri. The PPEs included N95 masks, surgical masks, overalls, medical goggles, face shields and pulse ox-meters will be used by both patients and frontline health workers in the fight against COVID-19
